Plagiarism Screening

Alburuj: Journal of Education and Islamic Science is highly committed to upholding academic integrity and preventing any forms of plagiarism, including self-plagiarism, in all published works. All manuscripts submitted to this journal must be entirely original and have not been published previously or are under consideration for publication elsewhere.

To ensure the originality of the manuscripts, the editorial board strictly enforces the following plagiarism screening policies:

THE SYSTEMATIC WORKFLOW OF THE REVIEW PROCESS IS OUTLINED AS FOLLOWS:
1. Screening Tool:

All submitted manuscripts will undergo a similarity check using standard plagiarism detection software, such as Turnitin or iThenticate, during the initial desk review process before being assigned to reviewers.

2. Similarity Threshold:

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

3. Exclusions:

In calculating the similarity index, standard exclusions apply, which include:

1) Quotes (properly cited text enclosed in quotation marks).

2) Bibliography / References.

3) Small matches (typically fewer than 5-10 words in a row).

4. Follow-up Actions:

1) If a manuscript has a similarity index of less than 20%, it will proceed to the double-blind peer review stage.

2) If a manuscript has a similarity index between 21% and 30%, it will be returned to the author(s) for major revisions and paraphrasing before it can be processed further.

3) If a manuscript has a similarity index above 30%, it will be immediately rejected (Desk Reject) without further review.
